SEATTLE — The San Francisco 49ers continued their undefeated start to the 2026 NFL season Sunday, October 11, escaping with a dramatic 32-29 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in a competitive NFC West showdown. San Francisco improved to 5-0, strengthening its position in the division, while Seattle fell to 3-2 following a closely contested matchup that featured multiple momentum swings. Both teams opened the game with seven points in the first quarter before San Francisco established a 21-13 halftime advantage. Seattle responded with an impressive third-quarter performance, scoring 13 unanswered points to take a 26-21 lead entering the final period. However, the 49ers refused to surrender their undefeated record. San Francisco produced 11 points in the fourth quarter while limiting Seattle to just three, completing the comeback and securing another important divisional victory. The 49ers' offense benefited from contributions across multiple positions. Running back Christian McCaffrey finished with 68 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, providing valuable production in the ground game. Wide receiver Mike Evans also played an important role, recording seven receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown. His ability to create opportunities in the passing game helped San Francisco remain competitive during Seattle's second-half surge. Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold completed 18 of 29 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown. Despite helping the Seahawks build a fourth-quarter opportunity, Seattle's offense could not generate enough points down the stretch.

The result demonstrated San Francisco's resilience and ability to respond under pressure. Winning close divisional games is often essential for teams pursuing postseason success, and the 49ers have continued to find ways to finish.

For Seattle, the loss was disappointing after holding a five-point advantage entering the fourth quarter. The Seahawks will look to improve their late-game execution as they attempt to remain competitive in the NFC West.
