ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks continued one of the NBA’s hottest stretches with a decisive 122-99 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night as CJ McCollum scored 30 points and Jalen Johnson recorded his 12th triple double of the season.

The latest result extends Atlanta’s winning streak to nine games, the longest active run in the league, and strengthens the team’s position in the Eastern Conference standings as the regular season moves toward its final phase.

McCollum led the offensive effort with 30 points while converting seven three-point attempts. The performance also carried historical significance for the veteran guard. With his seventh made three-pointer of the game, McCollum moved ahead of Paul Pierce into 16th place on the NBA career three-point list with 2,147.

Johnson delivered one of the most complete performances of the night. The versatile forward finished with 23 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds, securing his 12th triple double of the season while directing Atlanta’s offensive flow and contributing defensively on the glass.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 20 points for the Hawks as Atlanta maintained consistent scoring across multiple positions.

The game remained competitive during the first half. Atlanta held a narrow 60-52 lead at halftime after a back-and-forth opening period that featured six lead changes and four ties.

The decisive stretch came during the third quarter. Atlanta outscored Milwaukee 35-26 during the period while McCollum scored 11 points to help create separation on the scoreboard.

Milwaukee entered the matchup without its primary offensive leader. Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play after suffering a left ankle sprain during the Bucks’ 112-105 loss to the Miami Heat on Thursday. The absence significantly altered Milwaukee’s offensive structure and limited the team’s interior scoring presence.

Ryan Rollins led Milwaukee with 22 points while Kevin Porter Jr contributed 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven assists.

Atlanta also managed minor roster adjustments during the game. Guard Dyson Daniels returned to the lineup after missing one game with a toe sprain. Daniels finished with eight points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals, providing defensive energy and additional playmaking.

Forward Jonathan Kuminga remained unavailable due to a knee injury that has sidelined him in three of Atlanta’s past four games.

The current winning streak began on February 22 when Atlanta defeated the Brooklyn Nets 115-104. Since that point the Hawks have displayed improved offensive balance and defensive activity, producing one of the most productive stretches of the season.

From a broader league perspective, Atlanta’s offensive production during this run has been driven by perimeter scoring and playmaking depth. The combination of McCollum’s shooting, Johnson’s all-around production, and contributions from secondary scorers has created consistent offensive efficiency.

The impact of the latest victory extends beyond the immediate result. Maintaining a nine-game winning streak at this stage of the season can significantly influence playoff positioning and momentum as teams approach the postseason.

Looking ahead, Atlanta’s next step will be a home matchup against the Orlando Magic on Monday night as the Hawks attempt to extend their streak into double digits.

Milwaukee will return home to face the Indiana Pacers on Sunday afternoon as the Bucks evaluate Antetokounmpo’s recovery timeline and seek to stabilize their rotation during a critical portion of the schedule.
