Denver Co – Deni Avdija scored 28 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 118-110 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. The win kept Portland undefeated on the road to open the season at 4-0. Donovan Clingan delivered a strong performance with 17 points and 18 rebounds, while Jrue Holiday contributed 17 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds off the bench. Damian Lillard also reached double figures with 20 points. Denver controlled much of the opening portion of the game, but Portland gradually took control late in the third quarter. Holiday's layup gave the Trail Blazers an 82-80 advantage, marking their first lead after trailing for most of the contest. The Nuggets entered the final period ahead by two points, but Portland responded with a 9-2 run to establish a six-point cushion. Holiday later connected from beyond the arc to extend the advantage to 108-99. Denver attempted to mount a comeback, with Jamal Murray's three-pointer cutting the deficit to 110-107. However, Toumani Camara answered with a crucial three-pointer with 1:09 remaining, helping Portland secure the victory. Murray finished with a game-high 35 points for Denver, while Nikola Jokic recorded 26 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Jokic was close to another triple-double entering the fourth quarter but did not add to his rebound or assist totals in the final period.

The loss dropped Denver to two defeats in its first three home games. The Nuggets' only home victory so far came in overtime against New Orleans after overcoming a 23-point deficit.

Portland continues a demanding road stretch, with six of its next seven games scheduled away from home. The Trail Blazers will visit Phoenix on Wednesday, while Denver returns home to face Toronto that same night.
