Ben Powers Shows Commitment to Broncos With Contract Adjustment Ahead of Training Camp

Ben Powers has once again demonstrated his commitment to the Denver Broncos, making a move that benefits both himself and the organization heading into the 2026 season. The veteran offensive lineman agreed to a reworked one-year contract that reduces his overall salary but provides him with more guaranteed money, according to sources. While the financial terms are different from his original deal, Powers is still expected to be compensated as a starting-caliber offensive lineman. Powers was originally set to earn $13 million this season, but that money was not guaranteed unless he secured a spot on Denver’s 53-man roster. The offensive guard suffered a torn biceps during Denver’s Week 5 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The injury typically requires a lengthy recovery, but Powers worked quickly to return and eventually made his way back onto the field late in the season. After surgery, Powers returned for Denver’s final three regular-season games and played during the team’s playoff run.

His injury battle did not end there. During the Broncos’ December matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Powers suffered a Lisfranc injury in his foot, another issue that often sidelines players for extended periods. Rather than immediately shutting himself down, Powers continued playing and waited until after the season for additional testing. An MRI following Denver’s AFC Championship Game loss to New England revealed the extent of the injury, leading to offseason surgery. The Broncos kept the Lisfranc injury private throughout the offseason, and Powers spent the team’s offseason program recovering. Now entering his fourth season with Denver and eighth year in the NFL, Powers faces a critical training camp. The 29-year-old will have to compete for his starting position while proving he can stay healthy after a difficult season. Since joining the Broncos on a four-year, $52 million contract in free agency after his time with the Baltimore Ravens, Powers has become one of the leaders of Denver’s offensive line.
