DURHAM, N.C. — Cameron Boozer recorded 19 points and 12 rebounds as fourth-ranked Duke defeated Boston College 67–49 on Tuesday night, extending its winning streak to 10 games. Isaiah Evans added 12 points for the Blue Devils (21–1, 10–0 ACC), who secured the victory early despite producing their lowest scoring output in conference play this season. The win sets up a highly anticipated matchup against rival North Carolina on Saturday.
Boston College (9–13, 2–7 ACC) continued its struggles, suffering its third consecutive loss and seventh defeat in its last nine games. Fred Payne led the Eagles with 14 points. Boston College has now gone winless against ranked opponents over the past month. Although Boozer, a freshman and the nation’s leading scorer entering the game at 23.5 points per contest, shot just 3-for-9 in the second half, he made a significant impact defensively with a season-high five steals. Duke opened the game on a 13–0 run, including seven points from Boozer, and built an 18-point advantage before heading into halftime with a 42–27 lead. Boozer capped the first half with a powerful drive and dunk, and the Blue Devils shot 60.7 percent from the field during the opening period.
Boston College struggled offensively, shooting 5-for-20 from beyond the arc and converting only four of nine free throws. The Eagles remain winless in 15 all-time visits to Durham.
Boston College will host Miami on Saturday, beginning a three-game homestand. Duke travels to face No. 14 North Carolina in Chapel Hill the same day.
