The deal includes $50 million guaranteed and makes Bland one of the league’s elite earners at the position, with an average annual salary of $23 million — ranking him as the sixth highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. Bland has quickly established himself as one of the NFL’s premier playmakers in the secondary. In 2023, he burst onto the national scene by recording nine interceptions, five of which he returned for touchdowns — a single-season NFL record. His instincts, ball skills, and ability to change games in an instant have made him indispensable to the Cowboys’ defensive unit. However, the path hasn’t been without setbacks. Bland missed 10 games last season due to injury, a stretch that exposed some of the Cowboys’ vulnerabilities against the pass.
