The Miami Dolphins continue their search for a new head coach, scheduling a virtual interview with Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady on January 18, following Buffalo’s playoff loss to the Denver Broncos. The interview occurs just before NFL rules permit in-person interviews with coaches currently under contract. Recent reports suggest Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is a leading candidate for the position. Hafley reportedly impressed Dolphins management during a virtual interview and has prior professional connections with new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, who joined Miami from Green Bay. Hafley is expected to be a finalist for multiple head coaching openings around the league. On January 17, the Atlanta Falcons announced the hiring of former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski. Stefanski had previously interviewed with the Dolphins, including an in-person meeting, before finalizing his deal with Atlanta.

Other coaches linked to the Dolphins this offseason include:

  • Joe Brady – Scheduled for a virtual interview on January 18; previously served as offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers and is a South Florida native.

  • Anthony Campanile – Completed a virtual interview on January 16; currently defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars and former Dolphins linebackers coach.

  • Patrick Graham – Scheduled for an in-person interview on January 19; has experience with the Dolphins, Raiders, Giants, Packers, and Patriots.

  • John Harbaugh – Contacted by Miami but recently hired by the New York Giants; also interviewed with Atlanta.

  • Jeff Hafley – Completed a virtual interview on January 14; scheduled for an in-person interview on January 19; former Boston College head coach and current Packers defensive coordinator.

  • Klint Kubiak – Completed a virtual interview on January 10; Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator with interest from multiple teams.

  • Jesse Minter – Completed a virtual interview on January 15; Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator seeking his first head coaching role.

  • Robert Saleh – Completed a virtual interview on January 15; former Jets head coach and current 49ers defensive coordinator.

  • Kelvin Sheppard – Scheduled for an in-person interview on January 19; former Dolphins linebacker and current Lions defensive coordinator.

  • Chris Shula – Completed a virtual interview on January 16; Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator with NFL coaching connections.

The Dolphins continue to evaluate candidates following the firing of Mike McDaniel on January 8, seeking to identify the team’s next head coach amid a competitive coaching carousel.
