Lamar Wilkerson Scores 41 Points as Indiana Defeats Oregon 92-74 in the Big Ten

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Lamar Wilkerson erupted for 41 points Monday night, including a dominant second-half performance, to lead Indiana to a 92-74 victory over Oregon in a breaking update that extends the Ducks’ losing streak to 10 games.

Wilkerson, the senior guard, missed his first five shots before going on a 13-of-15 tear, finishing 6-of-12 from three-point range and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line. The effort marks Wilkerson’s second 40-point game this season, joining a select group of Indiana players with multiple 40-point outings in one season. Earlier in December, he scored 44 against Penn State at Assembly Hall, setting a school record for the venue.

Sam Alexis contributed 16 points for the Hoosiers (17-8, 8-6 Big Ten Conference), while Tucker DeVries added 15 points and seven assists. Nick Dorn also chipped in 11 points as Indiana extended its winning momentum, now having won two straight and five of its last six games.

Oregon (8-16, 1-11), led by Nate Bittle and reserve Wei Lin with 15 points each, continues to struggle under head coach Dana Altman, enduring the longest losing streak of his 16-year tenure. Bittle added eight rebounds and five assists, while Sean Stewart scored 12, Takai Simpkins 11, and Drew Carter 10.

The game featured nine lead changes and two ties in the first half. Wilkerson scored 16 in the opening 20 minutes, helping Indiana take a 36-30 lead into halftime. Oregon’s bench outscored Indiana’s 13-0 during that period, with Lin contributing nine points.

Indiana opened the second half on a 16-6 run, fueled by three-pointers from Wilkerson and DeVries and six points from Alexis. The Hoosiers shot an impressive 81.8 percent from the field in the second half, never allowing the Ducks’ deficit to fall below 10 points.

This win bolsters Indiana’s outlook in the Big Ten standings and highlights Wilkerson’s emergence as a primary scoring threat. The Hoosiers travel to face No. 8 Illinois on Sunday, while Oregon seeks to halt its losing skid against Penn State on Saturday.
