Lions Dominate Cardinals 45-21 Behind Explosive Offensive Performance.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Detroit Lions continued their strong start to the 2026 NFL season Sunday, October 11, delivering an impressive 45-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in a game highlighted by explosive offensive production and a commanding second-quarter performance. Detroit improved to 3-2 on the season, while Arizona dropped to 1-4 after struggling to contain the Lions' offensive attack. The Lions entered the game looking to establish momentum and quickly took control after a scoreless opening quarter. Detroit erupted for 24 points in the second quarter, creating a significant advantage before halftime. The offensive success continued after the break, with Detroit adding 14 points in the third quarter and seven more in the fourth. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett delivered an outstanding performance, completing 29 of 47 passes for 292 yards and three touchdowns. His ability to distribute the football and capitalize on scoring opportunities helped Detroit maintain control throughout the contest. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs provided another major offensive spark, rushing for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. Gibbs consistently challenged Arizona's defensive front and helped establish a balanced offensive attack.

Tight end Sam LaPorta also contributed significantly, finishing with five receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Arizona managed to score 21 points, including touchdowns in the first, third and fourth quarters, but could not overcome Detroit's offensive efficiency.

The victory highlighted Detroit's ability to generate points through both its passing and rushing attacks. With the Lions moving above the .500 mark, maintaining that offensive consistency will be important as they continue their push through the NFC schedule.

For Arizona, the loss raised additional questions about defensive execution as the Cardinals continue searching for answers following a difficult opening stretch.
