Napheesa Collier has agreed to remain with the Minnesota Lynx on a one-year supermax contract worth $1.4 million, according to sources cited by ESPN. The team officially confirmed her signing on Thursday but did not reveal financial details. Head coach and president of basketball operations Cheryl Reeve praised Collier’s impact on the franchise, highlighting her contributions since being drafted in 2019. Reeve noted Collier’s standout 2025 season, in which she helped lead Minnesota to a franchise-record number of wins while producing one of the most efficient shooting seasons in WNBA history. Collier posted averages of 22.9 points and 7.3 rebounds, becoming one of only a few players to achieve a 50–40–90 shooting split over a season. Collier’s season was disrupted by ankle injuries, including surgeries that are expected to keep her sidelined for part of the upcoming year. She had previously been designated as a “core” player by the Lynx, similar to a franchise tag in other professional sports, which ensured exclusive negotiating rights before the offer expired. Under the current collective bargaining agreement, she will become an unrestricted free agent in 2027. Despite roster changes—including the departure of several key players in free agency and the expansion draft—the Lynx have retained Collier, along with re-signing key contributors and drafting Olivia Miles second overall. The team hopes her return, once healthy, will help them compete for a championship in the 2026 season.
