Nikola Jokic delivered yet another masterclass performance, recording his fifth triple-double of the season with 33 points, 16 assists, and 15 rebounds as the Denver Nuggets extended their dominance over the Miami Heat with a 122-112 victory Wednesday night at Ball Arena. It marked the Nuggets’ 11th consecutive regular-season win over the Heat, a streak that stretches back to 2016. Denver also improved to 4-0 at home, continuing its perfect start in front of the Mile High City crowd. Jokic, efficient as ever, shot 12-for-18 from the field and secured his triple-double midway through the third quarter after snagging an offensive rebound. The two-time MVP orchestrated Denver’s offense with surgical precision, finding teammates in rhythm and controlling the game’s tempo from start to finish.
Aaron Gordon provided strong support with 24 points, while Jamal Murray sealed the win in the final minute with a pair of clutch free throws after Miami trimmed a 17-point deficit down to eight. “Every night, Nikola just finds a way to make everyone better,” Gordon said postgame. “We feed off his energy and unselfishness.” For Miami, Norman Powell stepped up with 23 points in a losing effort, but the Heat were severely hampered by the loss of Bam Adebayo, who exited after the first quarter with a left foot injury. The team expects to learn more about his condition on Thursday. Miami, outrebounded 61-38, finished its four-game road trip with a 1-3 record.
The Heat briefly led early after Powell hit a three-pointer on the opening possession — the first time Denver has trailed at home this season. But the Nuggets quickly took control, building a double-digit lead by halftime and never relinquishing it. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra reflected before the game on facing Nuggets head coach David Adelman, calling it “surreal” given his long friendship with the Adelman family and admiration for David’s father, former NBA coach Rick Adelman. With the win, Denver (now 7-2) continues to assert itself as one of the league’s most complete teams, led by Jokic’s relentless brilliance.
