The Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20–13 on Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium, using a late touchdown pass from quarterback Bo Nix and a strong defensive stand to seal the victory. The win marked Denver’s first road win against Kansas City since 2015 and brought the Broncos closer to clinching the AFC West title.

With less than two minutes remaining and facing fourth down inside the Chiefs’ 10-yard line, Broncos head coach Sean Payton sent his offense onto the field with the intention of drawing a penalty rather than running a play. Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones jumped offsides, giving Denver a new set of downs. Three plays later, Nix connected with R.J. Harvey in the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown.

Bo Nix finished the game with 182 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and one rushing touchdown. Denver’s defense then stopped Kansas City on its final possession, preventing a potential game-tying score in the closing seconds. The Chiefs were without starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes and backup Gardner Minshew, both sidelined with knee injuries. Third-string quarterback Chris Oladokun started in their place and threw for 66 yards and one touchdown. Tight end Travis Kelce led Kansas City with five receptions for 36 yards in what may have been his final home game at Arrowhead Stadium. Denver controlled the tempo for much of the game with long, time-consuming drives. Although Kansas City briefly held a 10–6 lead in the third quarter, the Chiefs struggled offensively in the second half, managing only 16 yards on their first three possessions after halftime.

With the win, the Broncos improved to 13–3 and moved closer to securing a division title and potential playoff bye. Denver will conclude the regular season next week against the Los Angeles Chargers, while Kansas City will finish its season on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders.
