No. 24 BYU women’s volleyball enters the final week of its regular season on an upswing, preparing for two critical matchups that will influence its postseason positioning. The Cougars host in-state rival Utah on Wednesday for senior night before traveling to Boulder for a Saturday showdown with No. 23 Colorado. The Cougars (20–8, 8–8 Big 12) are coming off their strongest conference week of the year, moving up one spot in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. BYU posted a 2–0 record, defeating Arizona in four sets and sweeping No. 13 Kansas. Across the two matches, the Cougars hit an impressive .385, powered by standout performances from freshman outside hitter Suli Davis and sophomore outside hitter Claire Little Chambers. Davis recorded 43 kills while hitting .410 for the week, including a career-high-tying 28 kills against Arizona. Her record-setting pace continued as she broke BYU’s rally-scoring era freshman kills record during the win over the Wildcats. Now with 481 kills on the season, she sits just eight shy of the program’s all-time freshman kills record, set by Dylann Duncan in 1985.

Little Chambers added 35 kills on a .476 clip across the two matches, while teammates Sophia Callahan and Brielle Kemavor also reached double figures. Setter Alex Bower contributed 87 assists—12.43 per set—while directing an offense that ranks 16th nationally in both kills (14.07) and assists per set (13.10). BYU continues to lead the Big 12 in total aces (184) and remains top-three in hitting percentage, kills per set, and assists.

Defensively, BYU saw five players reach double-digit digs last week, including Davis, Lulu Uluave, Little Chambers, Elli Mortensen, and Bower. Uluave added six service aces, helping the Cougars extend their Big 12 lead in the statistical category.

The Cougars now prepare for two familiar opponents. Utah (14–13, 6–10 Big 12) enters Wednesday’s matchup riding a three-match winning streak, including an upset sweep of No. 13 Kansas. The Utes also staged a reverse sweep over BYU two weeks ago, making the rivalry rematch a key opportunity for the Cougars to reclaim momentum. While Utah’s veteran head coach Beth Launiere continues to guide the program in her 36th season, BYU maintains a commanding 78–31 all-time series lead and a 43–11 advantage in Provo.

On Saturday, BYU travels to face No. 23 Colorado (22–7, 12–5 Big 12), which split its matches last week and has a full week to prepare for its lone matchup.

The Cougars have historically controlled the series, leading 8–2 and maintaining a perfect 3–0 record in Boulder. Colorado head coach Jesse Mahoney, now in his tenth year, will look to counter BYU’s high-powered offense in a match that could influence NCAA Tournament seeding. With the regular season concluding this week, BYU will learn its postseason fate during the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Selection Show on Sunday, November 30 at 4 p.m. MST on ESPN.
