SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A breakthrough season for the Jacksonville Dolphins came to a decisive end Sunday as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish delivered a dominant 18–6 victory in the second round of the NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse tournament. Fueled by a standout performance from Luke Miller, who recorded five goals and an assist, Notre Dame seized control early and never relented. The Irish jumped out in front with the game’s opening goal and carried a commanding 9–1 lead into halftime. Matt Jeffery contributed across the board with two goals and three assists, while Teddy Lally added a hat trick as part of a balanced offensive effort that saw nine different Notre Dame players find the scoresheet. Jacksonville struggled to generate sustained momentum throughout the contest, managing back-to-back goals only in the closing minutes. William Krupsky and Daylin John-Hill accounted for those late scores. Despite the loss, the Dolphins capped a historic campaign. The program not only earned its first NCAA tournament appearance but also secured its first postseason victory with a play-in win over Robert Morris. With the win, Notre Dame advances to face the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays in the quarterfinals, marking the Irish’s fourth consecutive trip to that stage of the tournament.
