Nikola Jokić has long been the driving force behind the Denver Nuggets’ success, and concern spread quickly after he suffered a knee injury during Monday night’s game against the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center. The injury occurred late in the second quarter, when Jokić appeared to grab his left knee and showed visible discomfort. Despite the scare, Jokić was able to leave the court under his own power, offering some early optimism for the Nuggets and their fans. Still, the team remains cautious as they await the results of an MRI scheduled for Tuesday. The outcome of the scan will determine the severity of the injury and Jokić’s availability moving forward. Additional optimism has emerged from Serbia, where Dorde Matić of Meridian Sport reported that sources close to the three-time NBA Most Valuable Player believe the injury may be a knee hyperextension.
While this assessment suggests a potentially minor issue, Matić emphasized that an official diagnosis has not yet been announced and advised patience until medical results are confirmed. For now, Denver remains in a holding pattern, hoping their franchise centerpiece avoids a serious setback as the season continues.
