Oklahoma State delivered a commanding second-half performance to defeat Colorado 57-24 on Saturday night in Stillwater, using a 34-point surge after halftime to turn a close contest into a decisive victory. Quarterback Drew Mestemaker led the Cowboys (5-2, 3-1 Big 12) with 386 passing yards and four touchdown passes. Running back Caleb Hawkins contributed 120 rushing yards, while kicker Sam Keltner made five field goals to establish a new Oklahoma State single-game record. Colorado (2-5, 0-4 Big 12) entered halftime with a 24-23 advantage after an effective offensive showing. Isaac Wilson threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns while adding another score on the ground. Mestemaker had already accumulated 264 passing yards and two touchdowns, but Oklahoma State struggled to finish several first-half possessions, settling for three field goals. The momentum shifted immediately after the break. On Colorado's opening possession of the third quarter, Wilson lost the ball while running a keeper. Oklahoma State safety Quinton Hammonds recovered the fumble at the Buffaloes' 24-yard line, setting up a quick scoring opportunity.

Mestemaker capitalized two plays later, connecting with tight end Morgan McPhaul on a 3-yard touchdown pass to put the Cowboys ahead. Oklahoma State continued to control the game, forcing Colorado to punt before putting together a 78-yard scoring drive. Hawkins played a major role in the possession, breaking off a 39-yard run and adding a 17-yard reception as the Cowboys extended their lead to 37-24.

The Oklahoma State defense also tightened considerably in the second half, limiting Colorado to just 120 yards of total offense. The Buffaloes managed four punts and committed three turnovers after the intermission, allowing the Cowboys to pull away.

Keltner's five successful field goals brought his consecutive made-field-goal streak to 18, matching Matt Amendola's program record. Oklahoma State finished with 598 total yards and 28 first downs, completing an impressive homecoming performance. Colorado's takeaway: The Buffaloes showed offensive promise before halftime but struggled to maintain that production in the second half. Turnovers and an inability to sustain drives proved costly.

Oklahoma State's takeaway: The Cowboys responded to a narrow halftime deficit with a dominant performance on both sides of the ball. Mestemaker's passing production, Hawkins' contributions and a strong defensive effort powered the comeback.
