The Las Vegas Raiders officially named Klint Kubiak as their new head coach on Monday, securing him with a five-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The team shared video of Kubiak arriving in Las Vegas with his family, where he was welcomed by general manager John Spytek. An introductory press conference is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.Kubiak confirmed his move to Las Vegas shortly after leading the Seattle Seahawks to a 29–13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX. Speaking on the field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, Kubiak expressed strong enthusiasm about the opportunity. He acknowledged he would be leaving Seattle to take over the Raiders’ coaching position. The 2026 season will mark Kubiak’s first as an NFL head coach. He is the son of former Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak and becomes the Raiders’ fifth full-time head coach since 2021. In his lone season as Seattle’s offensive coordinator, Kubiak guided a highly productive offense led by quarterback Sam Darnold. During the regular season, the Seahawks ranked third in scoring offense at 28.4 points per game and eighth in total offense, averaging 351.4 yards per game. The team also tied for 10th in rushing yards (123.3 per game) and ranked eighth in passing yards (228.1 per game). Seattle finished 13th in offensive efficiency and 15th in expected points added.
Several Seahawks players praised Kubiak following the Super Bowl victory. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba described him as a dedicated and knowledgeable coach who is committed to winning. Quarterback Sam Darnold also spoke highly of Kubiak, calling him both intelligent and personable and predicting success in Las Vegas. Kubiak takes over a Raiders team that struggled to a 3–14 record this season before parting ways with first-year head coach Pete Carroll. Despite the disappointing season, Las Vegas has promising offensive talent, including tight end Brock Bowers and running back Ashton Jeanty. The Raiders also hold the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and are widely projected to select Indiana quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza.
