AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — Dylan Riley put on a show for the Boise State Broncos on Saturday night, accounting for five touchdowns as the Broncos raced past the Air Force Falcons, 49-37, in a high-scoring Mountain West clash. Riley, who rushed for 171 yards and four touchdowns, also caught a 75-yard touchdown pass, cementing himself as the centerpiece of Boise State’s potent offense. The Broncos (2-1, 1-0 Mountain West) amassed an impressive 592 total yards, demonstrating a balanced attack both on the ground and through the air. Boise State jumped into the lead early and never looked back after a back-and-forth first half. The only lead for Air Force (1-2, 0-2) came on a 7-0 start. After the Falcons tied the game at 21 just over a minute into the second half, Malik Sherod’s 40-yard touchdown run restored the Broncos’ edge. The teams traded scores through the remainder of the game until Riley’s 43-yard dash with 2:08 remaining sealed the victory.
Quarterback Maddux Madsen contributed significantly, completing 13 of 23 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns while throwing an interception. His three-yard flip to Matt Lauter in the second quarter put Boise State ahead 21-7, and his 75-yard connection to Riley in the third quarter extended the lead to 35-24. Air Force fought hard behind Liam Szarka, who passed for 242 yards and two touchdowns and ran for an additional score. Running back Dylan Carson added 109 yards and a touchdown, while receiver Cade Harris caught eight passes for 177 yards. Despite their 511 yards of offense, the Falcons could not keep pace with Boise State’s explosive scoring.
With the win, Boise State improves to 2-1 overall and starts Mountain West play 1-0, while Air Force falls to 1-2 and 0-2 in conference action. Riley’s performance highlighted the Broncos’ offensive firepower, leaving a message for the rest of the league: Boise State is firing on all cylinders.
