ATLANTA — Bijan Robinson rushed for a career-high 195 yards, including a 93-yard touchdown run, as the Atlanta Falcons defeated the Los Angeles Rams 27–24 on Monday night. Kicker Zane Gonzalez sealed the victory with a 51-yard field goal with 21 seconds remaining, allowing Atlanta to recover after nearly surrendering two large leads. The Falcons dominated early, jumping out to a 21–0 halftime advantage and extending it to 24–3 early in the third quarter. Robinson’s 93-yard touchdown run, the longest in franchise history, highlighted the first half, while safety Jessie Bates III added a 34-yard interception return for a touchdown. Los Angeles responded behind quarterback Matthew Stafford, who rebounded from three interceptions to guide a comeback. Stafford threw touchdown passes of 27 yards to Terrance Ferguson and 11 yards to Puka Nacua, tying the game at 24 with less than three minutes remaining. Despite the rally, Atlanta regained possession and moved into field-goal range. Gonzalez’s late kick secured the Falcons’ third straight win and dropped the Rams to a two-game losing streak. Robinson also made history by setting the Falcons’ single-season record for scrimmage yards. He finished the game with 229 total yards, including five receptions for 34 yards and a receiving touchdown, giving him 2,255 scrimmage yards on the season.
Stafford completed 22 of 38 passes for 269 yards but struggled with turnovers, throwing three interceptions after entering the game with only five all season. One interception by rookie Xavier Watts set up Robinson’s long touchdown run. Watts later recorded his second interception on a fourth-down attempt late in the game. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris credited his defense for limiting Nacua, who was held to five catches for 47 yards. Rams head coach Sean McVay called the loss “humbling” but confirmed his starters will play in the regular-season finale.
With the loss, Los Angeles remains locked into a road playoff game, while Atlanta closes its season at home against New Orleans.
