According to the Tuscaloosa News, Alabama football will add former North Carolina State wide receiver Noah Rogers to its roster via the NCAA transfer portal. Rogers, who was once the top-ranked high school recruit in North Carolina, initially signed with Ohio State before transferring to N.C. State. The news outlet reviewed All-22 game film from four of Rogers’ 2025 contests against Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, and Pittsburgh to assess his performance. Rogers has been a consistent contributor in N.C. State’s receiving rotation for two seasons and will enter his fourth year of college football in 2026. Last season, he played 582 snaps and recorded 33 receptions for 441 yards and two touchdowns. These statistics mirrored his 2024 season, during which he caught 35 passes for 478 yards and one touchdown. According to Pro Football Focus, Rogers was targeted 52 times in 2025 and recorded five drops. At N.C. State, Rogers primarily lined up as an outside receiver, with the offense emphasizing quick, short passes to get him the ball. He also contributed on special teams, participating in the Wolfpack’s punt unit. Analysts note that Rogers demonstrates good initial quickness, precise route stems, and strong instincts for finding openings in zone coverage. He is effective in gaining yards after the catch and is comfortable attacking the middle of the field. However, he often catches passes against his body rather than extending his hands, which increases the likelihood of defensive pass breakups—a technical skill he will need to refine.
Alabama’s wide receiver room is undergoing considerable offseason turnover, and Rogers is expected to integrate quickly into the rotation. While he may not start every game immediately, he is projected to see significant playing time in the 2026 season.
