ATHENS, Ga. — Texas A&M extended its dominance in the Southeastern Conference with a 92-77 victory over Georgia on Saturday, fueled by Rashaun Agee’s 18 points and 15 rebounds, marking his 10th double-double of the season.
The Aggies (17-4, 7-1 SEC) set the tone early with a 22-0 run that held Georgia to only two points over nearly the first five minutes, demonstrating their defensive intensity and transition efficiency. Texas A&M maintained a 51-41 halftime lead, shooting 45 percent from the field and converting 19 of 20 free throws.
Georgia (16-6, 4-5 SEC) briefly cut the deficit to 56-47 early in the second half, but Agee, who had been shooting just 18.6 percent from three-point range prior to the game, made two critical long-range shots that helped the Aggies reestablish a double-digit lead. The Bulldogs narrowed the gap to 69-66 with just over nine minutes remaining, but back-to-back threes from Ali Dibba and Jacari Lane effectively sealed control for Texas A&M.
Marcus Hill added 15 points, Rubén Domínguez contributed 13, and Dibba scored 15 off the bench, highlighting the Aggies’ depth and scoring balance. The victory marked Texas A&M’s seventh consecutive win over Georgia and continued their perfect 10-0 record when scoring at least 90 points in a game this season.
For Georgia, Jeremiah Wilkinson led the team with 17 points and five assists while recording a career-high two blocks. Kanon Catchings and Blue Cain each contributed 14 points, and Dylan James achieved his first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds off the bench. Despite the effort, the Bulldogs struggled to match Texas A&M’s scoring runs and free-throw efficiency.
This victory solidifies Texas A&M’s standing at the top of the SEC and sets the stage for a critical matchup against No. 23 Alabama on Wednesday. Georgia looks to rebound when they visit LSU next Saturday, where adjustments in perimeter defense and bench production will be key to ending their recent SEC struggles.
The game also underlines the impact of Agee’s versatility, combining inside scoring with timely perimeter shooting, and demonstrates Texas A&M’s ability to maintain leads against high-tempo teams in SEC play.
Georgia will need to address defensive gaps and rebounding consistency to remain competitive in the conference.
