Tyrese Maxey delivered a sharp scoring performance as the Philadelphia 76ers continued their latest surge with a 128 to 113 road win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night in Inglewood, a breaking update that underscored Philadelphia growing stability despite significant roster absences.

Maxey finished with 29 points and connected on 7 three point shots, controlling the tempo from the opening quarter as Philadelphia led wire to wire. Dominick Barlow provided a major interior presence with 26 points and a career high 16 rebounds, while Joel Embiid added 24 points in one of his more complete outings since returning from a right ankle injury. The victory marked Philadelphia fourth consecutive win and continued a stretch that has kept the team competitive in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Philadelphia entered the game without Paul George, who remains sidelined during a 25 game suspension for violating the NBA anti drug program. Even so, the Sixers established early control, building a 72 to 53 halftime lead after shooting efficiently from the perimeter and dominating second chance opportunities. The team improved to 11 and 10 in games played without George, a notable data point as the front office evaluates roster durability and rotation depth moving toward the second half of the season.

Embiid performance reflected a player trending toward full form. He showed improved mobility and balance, particularly in the post, while drawing consistent attention from Los Angeles interior defenders. His presence opened clean perimeter looks for Maxey and allowed Barlow to exploit mismatches on the glass. Philadelphia maintained its composure even during a third quarter stretch when Los Angeles outscored them 34 to 28, still carrying a 100 to 87 advantage into the fourth.

The Clippers were led by Kawhi Leonard, who scored 29 points in a high usage role as Los Angeles navigated another game without James Harden. Harden missed his second straight contest due to personal reasons, with coach Tyronn Lue confirming he remained at home in Phoenix. Jordan Miller contributed 21 points off the bench, providing energy and pace, but the Clippers were unable to generate sustained momentum.

Leonard briefly sparked the crowd with two dunks and a three point make early in the fourth quarter, yet Philadelphia responded with disciplined half court execution and timely shooting. Los Angeles never cut the deficit below double digits during the final stretch, and Leonard exited the game late with the outcome decided.

From a broader outlook, the result reinforced Philadelphia recent defensive consistency and offensive balance, key indicators as the team navigates injuries and off court challenges. For Los Angeles, the loss halted an opportunity to build further separation in the Western Conference standings, though the Clippers remain 8 and 3 over their last 11 games and firmly in the mix for a play in position.

Next steps for both teams come quickly. Philadelphia travels to Golden State on Tuesday night to conclude a back to back, a test of depth and recovery.

The Clippers return home to host Cleveland on Wednesday night as they continue to manage rotation availability and workload amid a congested schedule.
