UCLA Releases 2026 Fall Camp Media Schedule Ahead of Bob Chesney's First Season.
The countdown to the 2026 college football season continues as UCLA has officially unveiled its preseason fall camp media schedule, marking the beginning of preparations for head coach Bob Chesney's inaugural season in Westwood. Fall camp is scheduled to begin on Aug. 6 at the Wasserman Football Center, with practices running through Aug. 28. The Bruins will also spend part of camp training at Great Park Sports Complex in Irvine from Aug. 10-14 before returning to campus to finish preparations for the regular season. One of the highlights of camp will be UCLA Football Media Day on Aug. 19, where Chesney, offensive coordinator Dean Kennedy, defensive coordinator Colin Hitschler, position coaches and selected student-athletes will meet with members of the media. Chesney's first media availability is set for Aug. 6 following the opening practice. He will also speak with reporters on Aug. 11, Aug. 17, and again after the Bruins' final preseason workout on Aug. 28. Selected players are scheduled to be available following practices on Aug. 7, Aug. 8, Aug. 22, Aug. 24, and Aug. 27, while Kennedy and Hitschler will hold a joint media session on Aug. 25.

According to UCLA, credentialed media will be permitted to observe approximately 20-30 minutes at the start of each open practice, along with a brief viewing period after practice before interviews begin. The university noted that weekly schedules and media instructions will be distributed throughout camp. The Aug. 11 practice in Irvine will be unique, as the entire session will be open for credentialed media coverage. The Bruins are preparing for their season opener on Sept. 5, when they travel to face California. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., marking the official debut of the Bob Chesney era as UCLA begins its 2026 campaign.
