Speculation surrounding the future of Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown continues to grow, with league insiders suggesting a separation may be approaching. According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Eagles are increasingly likely to explore trade options involving the star pass catcher during the upcoming offseason. During an appearance on PHLY Sports, Russini shared her belief that Brown’s time in Philadelphia may be coming to an end. While she emphasized that no deal is imminent, she indicated that the situation appears to be trending toward a trade. Russini also identified the New England Patriots as a potential destination, noting their championship aspirations as a possible motivator. Russini further revealed that she had previously inquired about Brown’s market value ahead of the trade deadline earlier in the season. Based on those discussions, she believes Philadelphia could expect to receive a second-round draft pick in return for the three-time Pro Bowl receiver. Brown’s frustrations were visible throughout the season, as he openly expressed dissatisfaction with aspects of the Eagles’ offense and overall direction. Those tensions have fueled ongoing rumors that a change of scenery may be inevitable. Despite the speculation, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman publicly dismissed the idea of trading Brown during his end-of-season press conference.
Roseman emphasized the difficulty of acquiring elite talent in the NFL and praised Brown’s passion for the game, reiterating the organization’s commitment to retaining high-caliber players. Still, league insiders remain unconvinced that Brown will remain in Philadelphia. With trade rumors persisting and relationships appearing strained, many around the NFL expect the Eagles’ star receiver to be wearing a different uniform when the next season begins.
