After a road loss to Utah State in their Mountain West opener, the Air Force women’s basketball team returned to Clune Arena on Wednesday night to secure a decisive 73-50 victory over the Aggies. Senior Emily Adams and Milahnie Perry spearheaded the Falcons’ offense, contributing 23 and 19 points, respectively. Adams’ 23-point, 12-rebound performance marked her first career double-double, with career-highs in both points and rebounds. She shot 8-of-15 from the field, including a late three-pointer, and recorded eight made baskets, a personal best. Perry’s 19 points brought her career total to 1,597, just 18 shy of the program’s Division I scoring record. The Falcons excelled from long range, finishing 11-of-22 (.500) on three-pointers, matching their season-best percentage and recording the most made threes in a game since Feb. 1 of last season. Air Force also tallied 20 assists, setting a season high and marking the team’s most since Feb. 19, 2025, at Utah State. For Adams, the performance was the third consecutive game in which she surpassed her personal bests. The game began closely, with Air Force trailing 14-12 after the first quarter. Adams’ five points in the opening frame helped the Falcons remain competitive, though Utah State led at the quarter’s end. In the second quarter, Air Force surged, outscoring the Aggies 20-6 to claim a 32-20 halftime lead. Junior Jayda McNabb contributed to the scoring, hitting a three-pointer at the buzzer to extend the lead.
The Falcons maintained their momentum after halftime, again making four of five three-point attempts in the third quarter. Perry scored 11 points in the frame, helping Air Force push its advantage to 55-35 with ten minutes remaining. Freshman Maddy Jensen capped the night with her fifth career three-pointer as the final buzzer sounded, sealing the 73-50 win. Air Force (10-12, 4-8 MW) led in numerous statistical categories, including field goal percentage (.369), field goals made (24) and attempted (65), three-pointers made (11) and attempted (22), free throws made (14) and percentage (.780), rebounds (42), assists (20), blocks (5), points off turnovers (16), second-chance points (13), fast-break points (6), and steals (9).
