Amad Diallo Strikes Late as Ivory Coast Edge Ecuador 1–0 in World Cup Thriller.

Ivory Coast secured a 1–0 victory over Ecuador in a tightly contested World Cup match in Philadelphia, thanks to a late goal from Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.

Ecuador created several early chances and came closest in the first half, with Enner Valencia firing over after a defensive error gifted him space inside the penalty area. John Yeboah also struck the crossbar from distance, while Alan Minda hit the woodwork following a well-placed pass from Pedro Vite. Despite Ecuador’s pressure, Ivory Coast gradually settled into the game and began creating chances of their own after halftime. Nineteen-year-old Yan Diomande was particularly active on the right wing, though Ivory Coast struggled to convert their attacking moves into goals. Ecuador remained dangerous on the break, with Gonzalo Plata forcing a save and Joel Ordóñez heading over from a set piece. However, neither side was able to break the deadlock until the final minutes. In the 90th minute, Ivory Coast launched a decisive attack through Wilfried Singo, whose strong run and delivery set up Amad Diallo to finish calmly inside the post from the edge of the box, sealing the win.
