Ivory Coast secured a 1–0 victory over Ecuador in a tightly contested World Cup match in Philadelphia, thanks to a late goal from Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.

Ecuador created several early chances and came closest in the first half, with Enner Valencia firing over after a defensive error gifted him space inside the penalty area.
