The Las Vegas Raiders’ struggles continued Sunday night with a 34–10 defeat against the New York Giants at Allegiant Stadium, marking their tenth straight loss of the season. With the result, Las Vegas now sits in prime position to potentially secure the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, assuming another loss in Week 18 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Despite the team’s ongoing issues, rookie running back Ashton Jeanty provided one of the few positives. Jeanty totaled 73 yards from scrimmage, following up a strong performance in Week 16 against the Houston Texans. While the outing was less productive, his role remains a key building block for the franchise moving forward. After the game, Jeanty acknowledged the disappointment surrounding the season but emphasized his commitment to improvement and leadership heading into next year.
“It’s been a terrible season for us,” Jeanty said, according to Hondo Carpenter of On SI. “I’m going to be working doing everything I can to get better and be able to lead this team better next year… I’ll always have faith that things get better.”
Jeanty enters the final week of the season with a chance to reach 1,000 rushing yards as a rookie. Through 16 games, he has recorded 888 rushing yards on 240 carries and scored 10 total touchdowns, according to StatMuse. While there is some speculation the Raiders could limit his snaps to avoid injury in a meaningless finale, Jeanty is expected to be available against Kansas City.

Maxx Crosby’s Frustration Adds to Raiders’ Tension
While Jeanty is likely to suit up in Week 18, star defensive end Maxx Crosby will not. Head coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Crosby, who has been dealing with a knee injury, will return to team facilities on December 29 after being shut down for the remainder of the season. According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, Crosby strongly disagreed with the decision. Glazer reported that Crosby wanted to continue playing, noting that he had been dealing with the injury since Week 3 and remained eager to compete alongside his teammates.
Crosby’s frustration has fueled speculation about his future with the franchise. Although Glazer previously reported that Crosby did not want to be traded, he suggested that the current situation may require internal repair to prevent further tension.
