SEATTLE — The Chicago Bears delivered an impressive performance on Monday night, defeating the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 behind an efficient outing from quarterback Caleb Williams, three rushing touchdowns from D’Andre Swift and a strong defensive debut by newly acquired defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons. Chicago improved to 6-2 on the season, while Seattle dropped to 4-4 after suffering its third loss in four games. Williams led the Bears' offense with 247 passing yards, completing 71% of his attempts without committing a turnover. The second-year quarterback managed the offense effectively against one of the league's toughest defenses, helping Chicago sustain drives and capitalize on scoring opportunities. Swift played a major role in the victory, finding the end zone three times on short rushing touchdowns. His production helped Chicago maintain control of the game and eventually pull away in the fourth quarter. Defensively, Simmons made an immediate difference in his first appearance with Chicago after arriving in a trade with the Tennessee Titans last week. The Bears acquired the standout defensive lineman in a deal that included two first-round draft picks. Simmons recorded six tackles, one sack, a tackle for loss, three quarterback pressures and a pass defended. His presence strengthened Chicago's defensive front and contributed to a difficult night for Seattle's offense.

The Bears limited the Seahawks to 252 total yards and allowed just one conversion on 11 third-down attempts.

Chicago established its offensive rhythm early, opening the game with a 17-play possession that ended with Williams connecting with rookie receiver Luther Burden for a 1-yard touchdown. The Bears added two field goals before halftime, while Seattle struggled to generate consistent offense against Chicago's defensive pressure. Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba on a 43-yard completion late in the second quarter, providing one of the Seahawks' few offensive highlights of the first half. Chicago continued building its advantage in the third quarter when Swift scored on a 1-yard run, extending the Bears' lead to 20-9. Seattle briefly threatened a comeback in the fourth quarter. After Seahawks kicker Jason Myers had a 33-yard field goal attempt blocked, Seattle's defense created another opportunity when DeMarcus Lawrence forced a fumble by Bears tight end Colston Loveland. Darnold took advantage of the turnover, throwing a 7-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp. Seattle successfully converted the two-point attempt, cutting Chicago's lead to 20-17. However, the Bears responded with another touchdown drive to regain control. Chicago's defense then intercepted Darnold in the fourth quarter, setting up Swift's third rushing touchdown. The score extended the Bears' advantage to 34-17 with 4:41 remaining, effectively ending Seattle's comeback hopes. Darnold finished the night completing 17 of 34 passes for 188 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Seattle also struggled to establish its rushing attack, finishing with just 81 yards on the ground despite recently acquiring All-Pro offensive lineman Quenton Nelson and welcoming back running backs Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price from injuries.

The defeat marked a significant setback for the defending Super Bowl champions. Seattle's loss ended a 30-game streak, including postseason contests, in which the team had avoided losing by more than four points.

For Chicago, the victory highlighted the team's ability to succeed on both sides of the football. Williams continued demonstrating his development as a quarterback, Swift provided reliable production near the goal line, and Simmons gave the defense an immediate boost. The Bears also overcame injuries to defensive linemen Grady Jarrett, who exited with a groin injury, and Kenatvius Street, who suffered a knee injury. Seattle defensive lineman Leonard Williams left the game during the second half with a stinger and did not return. Chicago will look to build on its momentum when the Bears return home to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night. Seattle will attempt to get back on track when the Seahawks host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
