CHICAGO — Caleb Williams knew immediately when the ball left his hand that the play would work. On Saturday night, his confidence proved justified as the Chicago Bears pulled off a stunning 22-16 overtime victory against the Green Bay Packers, completing a comeback from a 10-point deficit in the final minutes. Williams connected with DJ Moore on a 46-yard touchdown pass in overtime, sealing Chicago’s sixth consecutive home victory and extending their lead in the NFC North to 11-4, 1½ games ahead of the Packers (9-5-1). The win also offered some redemption after a loss at Lambeau Field two weeks earlier.

“I knew it was good,” Williams said. “You've got that belief. You've got that confidence. You've got that swagger as an offense. You've practiced well. You've hit plays like that in practice. It was pretty identical to practice. When the play gets called and the moment comes up like that, it's time to go hit it. It's time to go win the game.”

The Bears’ rally began with a 43-yard field goal from Cairo Santos, cutting the Packers’ lead to 16-9 with 1:59 remaining. After a successful onside kick recovery by Josh Blackwell, Williams led the team down the field and threw a 6-yard touchdown to Jahdae Walker with just 24 seconds left in regulation. Chicago opted for the extra point to tie the game at 16 and force overtime. In overtime, a crucial fourth-and-1 fumble by Packers backup quarterback Malik Willis at the Chicago 36-yard line gave the Bears possession. Four plays later, Williams found Moore for the decisive touchdown, beating coverage by Keisean Nixon, who had intercepted him in a previous matchup two weeks ago.

“This was a practice rep but we did it in a game,” Moore said. “It was just amazing that we did it against the Packers.”

Green Bay was hampered by the loss of starting quarterback Jordan Love, who left in the second quarter after a helmet-to-helmet hit by Austin Booker. Love had led two field goal drives and completed 8 of 13 passes for 77 yards before exiting. The Packers also dealt with injuries to LB Kristian Welch and TE John FitzPatrick, while the Bears lost CB C.J. Gardner-Johnson in the fourth quarter.

Williams finished 19 of 34 for 250 yards and two touchdowns, tying Bo Nix’s NFL record for eight career fourth-quarter comebacks by a quarterback in his first two seasons. Moore totaled 97 receiving yards in the win, helping Chicago move closer to its first postseason appearance since 2020. The Packers will host Baltimore next Saturday, while the Bears travel to San Francisco on Dec. 28.
