The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 120–106 on March 10, 2026, led by a triple-double performance from Luka Dončić and a dominant second half from Austin Reaves. The victory allowed the Lakers to complete a season sweep of Minnesota and move into a tie for fourth place in the Western Conference standings. Dončić recorded 31 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds, earning his seventh triple-double of the season and the 89th of his career. The performance places him seventh on the NBA’s all-time triple-double list. Reaves also finished with 31 points, with 29 of those coming in the second half. His strong performance included seven three-pointers and two four-point plays that helped the Lakers extend their lead during the second half. The Lakers played without LeBron James, who missed his third consecutive game because of injury. Despite his absence, the team has continued to perform well, improving to 13–8 this season without him in the lineup. The Lakers have been especially effective when Dončić and Reaves play together without James, holding a 10–2 record in those games. Although both teams struggled offensively in the first half, the Lakers eventually found their rhythm. After missing 17 of their first 21 shots and scoring only 16 points in the first quarter, the Lakers surged in the third quarter behind Reaves’ scoring burst. His 16-point quarter helped push the Lakers’ lead to 19 points and gave them control of the game.
Minnesota was led by Julius Randle with 14 points, while Anthony Edwards also scored 14 points but struggled with efficiency, shooting just 2-for-15 from the field. Several Timberwolves bench players contributed double-digit scoring, but it was not enough to overcome the Lakers’ second-half momentum. The loss marked Minnesota’s second consecutive defeat after previously winning five straight games. Meanwhile, the Lakers secured their third straight win and six victories in their last seven games. The Timberwolves will continue their road trip against the Los Angeles Clippers, while the Lakers will return home to face the Chicago Bulls in their next game.
