ATLANTA — Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 29 points and Jalen Johnson added 27 as the Atlanta Hawks extended their winning streak to seven games with a 124-112 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. The Hawks maintained a lead for most of the game but only pulled away decisively in the fourth quarter. Dallas briefly tied the score at 97 with just over nine minutes remaining on a step-back jumper by Khris Middleton. From that point, Atlanta regained control, and Alexander-Walker hit back-to-back three-pointers late to secure the win. Rookie Cooper Flagg was limited to 14 points on 6-of-16 shooting, largely due to defensive pressure from Hawks standout Dyson Daniels. Daniels also contributed 14 points and 10 assists, reaching a career milestone of 1,000 field goals. Onkeya Okongwu added a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. Klay Thompson led Dallas with 21 points. Coming into the game, Atlanta trailed sixth-place Orlando by 2½ games for the final guaranteed playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks, currently ninth, hope their strong finish could lift them out of a fifth consecutive appearance in the play-in tournament. This streak marks their longest since two separate seven-game runs during the 2021–22 season. Six of the victories during this streak have come at home, pushing Atlanta to a .500 home record (16–16) for the first time since late November.

Meanwhile, Dallas continues its rebuilding process around 19-year-old Flagg and has lost 18 of its last 20 games. The Atlanta crowd expressed its frustration with chants of “Who are you? Who are you?” The teams will next meet the following Thursday: the Mavericks travel to Memphis, while the Hawks host Brooklyn.
