Bills Add Veteran Edge Help, Sign Ex-Chiefs Pass Rusher Mike Danna to One-Year Deal.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills continued reshaping their defensive front on Monday, signing veteran edge rusher Mike Danna to a one-year contract, the team announced.

Danna, 28, arrives in Buffalo after spending the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs, who released him in February as part of a salary-cap restructuring ahead of the new league year. A former fifth-round pick out of Michigan, Danna developed into a reliable rotational pass rusher in Kansas City and became a familiar opponent for Buffalo over the years. He faced the Buffalo Bills in multiple regular-season and postseason matchups, including the 2024 AFC Championship Game, where he recorded a strip sack on quarterback Josh Allen—one of his 21.5 career regular-season sacks. Across his tenure with the Chiefs, Danna appeared in 15 games last season and totaled 51 quarterback hits, six forced fumbles, and two Super Bowl championships. The move adds another experienced piece to Buffalo’s retooled pass rush under new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard. The Bills have been active this offseason reshaping their edge group, signing veteran Bradley Chubb to a three-year deal and selecting Clemson standout T.J. Parker with the 35th overall pick in the draft. Danna joins a defensive end rotation that also includes Greg Rousseau and Michael Hoecht, who is returning from a torn Achilles as Buffalo looks to bolster its pass rush depth heading into the 2026 season.
