Bo Nix Entering Year 3 With Growing Confidence Inside Broncos’ Locker Room

DENVER — Bo Nix enters his third NFL season with expectations higher than ever, but the Denver Broncos quarterback is earning plenty of confidence from the teammates who see his development every day. Veteran linebacker Alex Singleton has been among those impressed by Nix’s progress. After facing the quarterback throughout training camp and practices, Singleton offered a strong assessment of where Nix currently stands. “He’s playing out of his mind,” Singleton said. Nix enters the 2026 season coming off a 14-3 campaign in which he established himself as the centerpiece of Denver’s offense. The quarterback finished last season with 3,931 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while attempting an NFL-high 612 passes. While Nix produced strong numbers, there were still stretches where the Broncos’ offense struggled to maintain consistency. Entering Year 3, the expectation is that Nix can become more efficient and eliminate some of those difficult stretches. His growth has not been limited to what he does with the football. Right tackle Mike McGlinchey said Nix has become better at managing the mental side of the position and understanding which situations deserve his attention. Nix also had to overcome questions surrounding his health after suffering an ankle injury during Denver’s playoff run. Those concerns appeared to fade after he returned to preseason action. In his preseason appearance last Friday, Nix completed 6 of 9 passes for 76 yards and delivered a touchdown pass to running back RJ Harvey. The performance provided another positive sign as he prepares for the regular season. Backup quarterback Sam Ehlinger has also noticed Nix’s increased comfort within the offense.

“He knows all the receivers and all the running backs too,” Ehlinger said. “He’s making great decisions.” New offensive play-caller Davis Webb has previously pointed to the third season as a potential turning point for quarterbacks. Webb has experience working around Josh Allen in Buffalo, where Allen made a significant jump during his third year. The Broncos are hoping Nix can make a similar progression. Denver also added another major weapon this offseason in wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, giving Nix another explosive option in an offense that already has high expectations heading into the season. With the Broncos coming off a 14-win season and returning much of their core, Nix will be at the center of the team’s hopes for another deep playoff run. The pressure will be greater, but so is the confidence surrounding the quarterback. Based on what his teammates have seen throughout the offseason, Nix appears ready for the challenge.
