Bradish Dominates as Orioles Blank Yankees, Win Series in Baltimore.

BALTIMORE — Kyle Bradish delivered another sharp outing Wednesday afternoon, overpowering New York across six dominant innings as the Baltimore Orioles rolled to a 7-0 victory over the Yankees at Camden Yards, securing their second win in the three-game set.

The Orioles bounced back emphatically after being swept in four games by New York earlier this month, when the Yankees piled up 39 runs against Baltimore pitching. This time, Baltimore controlled the series from the mound and capped it with its first shutout of the season. Bradish allowed just one hit while striking out seven and walking three, improving to 2-5 on the year. The right-hander carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and continued the momentum from his previous start against Oakland, when he struck out 10. Baltimore’s offense backed him early against Yankees left-hander Max Fried, who exited after only three innings because of elbow soreness. Fried surrendered three runs and is expected to undergo further evaluation Thursday. The Orioles struck first in the second inning when Coby Mayo lined an RBI double to bring home the game’s opening run. Baltimore added two more in the third after Blaze Alexander reached on a bunt single and advanced on Fried’s errant throw to first. Adley Rutschman followed with a sacrifice fly before Pete Alonso added an RBI single to extend the lead to 3-0. Rutschman provided the biggest swing of the afternoon in the fifth inning, launching a two-run homer to right field that glanced off Spencer Jones’ glove before carrying over the wall.

Alexander capped his standout performance with a two-run single in the sixth. The infielder finished with three hits and scored twice from the lower half of the lineup. The Yankees continued to struggle offensively, managing only one hit all afternoon. Anthony Volpe, back with the club after a brief stint in the minors, went hitless in three at-bats and committed an error. New York has now dropped five of its last six games. The Yankees will have Thursday off before beginning a weekend Subway Series against the Mets, with Cam Schlittler scheduled to start Friday’s opener. Baltimore also has an off day before opening a road series in Washington, where Shane Baz is expected to take the mound Friday night.
