The 2024 National Lacrosse League Draft was conducted virtually on Sunday evening, and the selection made by the Philadelphia Wings for the No. 1 pick elicited little surprise. Brennan O’Neill has now become the fourth individual to be chosen first overall in both the NLL and its outdoor professional equivalent, joining the ranks of Kevin Crowley (2012), Lyle Thompson (2015), and Jeff Teat (2020). Notably, he is the first American player to be selected first since Casey Powell in 1998. The standout from Duke University and the U.S. Men’s National Team's most valuable player observed the draft from his former collegiate environment. “Now I get to write my own history in this league,” he remarked to Teddy Jenner following the draft. O’Neill was among three players from Duke selected during the event. The results of all six rounds can be found below.
