The Denver Broncos have locked in defensive lineman Zach Allen for the long term, agreeing to a four-year contract extension that will keep him in Denver through the 2029 NFL season. The deal, announced Saturday, is valued at $102 million with $69.5 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports. Allen, who turns 28 later this month, entered the league as a third-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2019 NFL Draft. After four productive seasons in Arizona, he joined the Broncos in 2023 on a three-year, $47.75 million free-agent contract. Originally set to become a free agent after the upcoming season, Allen now becomes a centerpiece of Denver’s defensive line for years to come. Since joining the Broncos, Allen has started all 33 games in which he has played, recording 121 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 64 quarterback hits, and 13.5 sacks. Over his 78-game career, he has amassed 259 tackles, 44 tackles for loss, 107 quarterback hits, 25 sacks, one interception, a forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries.
The extension comes amid an active week for the Broncos’ front office. Earlier in the week, Denver finalized a four-year deal with star wide receiver Courtland Sutton worth a reported $92 million. These moves underscore the Broncos’ commitment to retaining core talent as the team looks to compete in the challenging AFC West.
