CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association), in collaboration with the Denver Broncos, hosted its annual Fall Media Day at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium. The event marked the official kickoff to the 2025-2026 fall season, celebrating over 150 student-athletes from 34 schools, representing 43 sports teams and 15 different activities across the state. Participants enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of Empower Field, attended a media training session led by the Denver Broncos public relations team, and engaged with local press during professional-style interviews and photo shoots. The event offered a unique opportunity for students to step into the spotlight, gain media experience, and represent their programs with pride.

“The Denver Broncos, what they’ve done for all high school athletics – and it’s not just a football thing, and that’s what’s wonderful about it,” said Wray football coach Levi Kramer. “To get on a podium at Empower Field – how cool is that?”

All fall sports and activities were represented, including football, flag football, volleyball, cross country, softball, soccer, field hockey, gymnastics, golf, tennis, spirit, unified bowling, and esports. CHSAA student leadership representatives played a key role in organizing and facilitating the event, even moderating the official press conference.

“It’s something these girls will remember forever,” said McClave volleyball coach Melissa Steinbrunn, whose team is the returning 1A state champion. “It was well-coordinated, well-planned and efficient.”

Among the many standout attendees were returning state champs and first-time programs, including Falcon-Fort Carson’s new flag football team, and top athletes from across the state.

Recaps of the Group Highlights:

  • Group 1 featured Broomfield and Thompson Valley football, Mountain Vista flag football, and top soccer and golf athletes from Cheyenne Mountain, Valor Christian, Forge Christian, Air Academy, and Holy Family.

  • Group 2 included Wray football, gymnastics teams from Arvada West, Standley Lake, and Elizabeth, and unified bowlers from Doherty.

  • Group 3 saw Haxtun football, Arvada West flag football, and powerhouse volleyball teams from McClave, Sedgwick County, and Valor Christian.

This unforgettable day reflected the Broncos’ continued investment in Colorado’s youth athletics — not just in football, but across all sports and activities — leaving a lasting impression on student-athletes and coaches alike.
