SAN FRANCISCO — Stephen Curry delivered another clutch performance, scoring 31 points and knocking down a step-back three-pointer with 26 seconds remaining to lift the Golden State Warriors past the Milwaukee Bucks, 120–113, on Wednesday night at Chase Center.
Curry also contributed seven assists and seven rebounds while shooting 12-of-21 from the field, including three shots from beyond the arc. He scored 14 points by halftime after hitting his first three-pointer midway through the opening quarter. Jimmy Butler added 21 points and five rebounds for Golden State, while De’Anthony Melton provided a spark off the bench with 22 points. Al Horford turned in one of his most complete performances since joining the Warriors, finishing with eight points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Draymond Green chipped in 14 points and seven assists as Golden State opened an eight-game homestand. The Warriors built a lead as large as 17 in the third quarter and held on late despite a strong push from Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 34 points to go along with 10 rebounds and five assists, shooting 15-for-22 from the floor, though he missed five of seven free throws. His layup with 4:38 remaining cut the deficit to 10, but Butler answered with a timely basket on the next possession. Kevin Porter Jr. added 15 points, nine assists, and four rebounds for the Bucks, who struggled to keep pace with Golden State’s perimeter shooting. The Warriors connected on 18 three-pointers and outrebounded Milwaukee 53–42.
Milwaukee entered the game having won four of its previous five contests but dropped its sixth straight game at Golden State since a victory on Jan. 8, 2020. The teams split their season series, with the Bucks having won 120–110 at home on Oct. 30. The Bucks will visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, while the Warriors remain at home to host the Sacramento Kings.
