Eugenio Suárez achieved a major milestone Friday night, becoming the third Venezuelan-born player in Major League Baseball history to hit 300 home runs. His offensive explosion helped lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 14–8 win over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Suárez, who finished the game 4-for-5, tied his season high in hits and hit home runs in the fifth and sixth innings. His second homer of the night was also his team-leading 24th of the season and gave Arizona a commanding 11–7 lead. With 300 career home runs, Suárez now joins Venezuelan legends Miguel Cabrera (511) and Andrés Galarraga (399) in the exclusive club. The Diamondbacks' offense was firing on all cylinders, collecting a season-high 21 hits. Ketel Marte led the charge with five RBIs, delivering a three-run home run and a two-run double. Ildemaro Vargas narrowly missed hitting for the cycle, falling only a triple short, and added his first home run of the season. Arizona’s starter Zac Gallen (5-8) battled through five innings and was credited with the win despite a rocky fourth inning in which Colorado sent ten batters to the plate and scored six runs to briefly take a 7–6 lead. Ryan McMahon and Mickey Moniak both homered for the Rockies, and Hunter Goodman added a two-run double in the frame.

Colorado’s starting pitcher, Austin Gomber (0-1), made his first home start of the season after beginning the year on the injured list. He gave up nine runs on 12 hits over 4⅔ innings. This performance contrasted with his season debut, where he pitched five scoreless innings in Atlanta. Gallen, who had dominated the Rockies in past seasons, has now given up seven home runs to them across two games in 2025. In comparison, he allowed only two home runs to Colorado in his previous 15 starts. Suárez’s milestone not only marked a personal achievement but also solidified his role as a key contributor for the Diamondbacks in their push through the National League West. His league-leading 65 RBIs underscore his impact on Arizona’s lineup this season.
