Boston — A resurgent performance from Giancarlo Stanton and a commanding outing on the mound fueled another statement win as New York continues to build early season momentum.

The New York Yankees extended their winning streak to four games with a 4-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox, combining timely power hitting with elite pitching in a performance that reflects a growing trend across their roster. The latest result also marked New York’s fifth shutout of the season, reinforcing their status as one of the most balanced teams in the league.

Stanton delivered the defining performance of the night, accounting for three of New York’s four runs. After being held hitless in his previous two games and sitting out Sunday’s matchup, Stanton responded with authority. He opened the scoring in the second inning with a towering solo home run to left field, driving a slider over the Green Monster for his third homer of the season.

That swing set the tone early and gave the Yankees immediate control. Stanton added to his impact in the sixth inning, delivering a two run double off the left center field wall that brought home Amed Rosario and Aaron Judge. The sequence came after consecutive walks, highlighting New York’s ability to create scoring chances through patience and capitalize with extra base power.

The Yankees’ offense continued to show depth beyond Stanton. Cody Bellinger extended his hitting streak to nine games with a single in the eighth inning and later scored on a double by Randal Grichuk. While Ben Rice saw his home run streak end, striking out four times, the lineup maintained consistent pressure with a total of 10 hits.

On the mound, Luis Gil delivered his strongest start of the season. The right hander allowed just two hits over 6.1 innings, striking out two and walking three. It was a notable step forward after shorter outings in his first two starts and demonstrated improved command and efficiency. Gil’s performance set the foundation for another dominant pitching display by New York, which has now established a clear identity built around run prevention.

Boston’s offense struggled to generate rhythm throughout the game. After Marcelo Mayer recorded a double in the second inning, the Red Sox did not produce another hit until Carlos Narváez singled in the eighth. The lack of sustained offense continues to be a concern, particularly against high level pitching.

Defensively, Boston showed flashes, including a leaping catch at the wall by Ceddanne Rafaela that denied Stanton an additional extra base hit. However, those moments were not enough to offset the broader challenges at the plate and on the mound.

From a roster perspective, New York’s balance stands out as a key factor in its early success. The combination of power hitters like Stanton and Judge, alongside consistent contributors such as Bellinger, creates multiple scoring threats. At the same time, the pitching staff continues to deliver results, positioning the Yankees as a contender capable of controlling games in different ways.

For Boston, the latest loss marks its third in four games and highlights the need for offensive adjustments. The team has struggled to produce against quality pitching, and improving situational hitting will be critical in upcoming matchups.

Looking ahead, the next steps in this series feature a strong pitching matchup, with Max Fried set to take the mound for New York against Boston’s Ranger Suarez. That game presents another opportunity for the Yankees to extend their streak while the Red Sox aim to reset and find consistency.

This latest chapter in the Yankees vs Red Sox timeline underscores a familiar theme. When New York combines power hitting with disciplined pitching, it becomes difficult to counter. Stanton’s response performance not only lifted the Yankees to another win but also reinforced the team’s growing confidence as the season continues to take shape.
