MADISON, Wis. — Gift Uchenna Okeke scored nine points and pulled down eight rebounds to help Wisconsin secure a 59-39 victory over USC on Thursday night at the Kohl Center, marking a key conference win for the Badgers.

Okeke was joined by Kyrah Daniels, who scored 13 points on 5 of 14 shooting including three of five from three-point range, while Ronnie Porter recorded eight points with 12 assists and six rebounds. Laci Steele contributed five points, and Destiny Howell added 11 points and two assists. Wisconsin (24-14, 6-11 Big Ten) shot 35 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point range, holding USC to 39 percent shooting and 23 percent from deep.

USC (23-15, 9-8 Big Ten) was led by Jazzy Davidson with 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including two of four from three-point range. Kara Dunn added 14 points and seven rebounds, Kennedy Smith scored eight points, and Laura Williams grabbed 14 rebounds while scoring four points. The Trojans made just six of 26 three-point attempts as Wisconsin effectively defended perimeter shots.

The Badgers opened with consistent scoring and maintained a lead through the first half, building a 30-20 advantage at the break. Okeke’s and Daniels’ offensive efficiency combined with strong defensive rotations kept USC from establishing rhythm. USC attempted to close the gap in the third quarter, but Porter’s playmaking and Wisconsin’s collective defense limited scoring opportunities. The final margin reflected Wisconsin’s control for most of the game, despite a late USC push.

This win improves Wisconsin’s outlook in the Big Ten standings and positions them for a challenging road matchup in the coming week. USC will look to rebound as they prepare for their next conference contest.
