PROVO, Utah — Olivia Miles posted the 10th triple-double of her career to guide No. 8 TCU to a convincing 72–48 win over BYU on Wednesday night. Miles finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Horned Frogs remained undefeated on the season.
The victory improved TCU’s record to 14–0 overall and 2–0 in Big 12 play, marking the team’s 12th consecutive win against a conference opponent. Clara Silva led all scorers for TCU with 15 points and added seven rebounds. Despite committing 15 turnovers, the Horned Frogs maintained control throughout the game. TCU is now one of only two teams nationwide to have won every contest this season by double digits. BYU was led by Sydney Benally, who scored 18 points, while Delany Gibb contributed 13 points and five assists. The Cougars, now 12–2 overall and 1–1 in conference play, saw their five-game winning streak come to an end after shooting 30 percent from the field and turning the ball over 17 times.
The Cougars stayed within striking distance through much of the third quarter. Benally’s layup cut TCU’s lead to 38–36 before the Horned Frogs responded with a decisive 9–0 run. Taylor Bigby capped the surge with a layup that pushed the lead to 50–38. TCU maintained a double-digit advantage throughout the fourth quarter. Earlier in the game, BYU briefly closed the gap to 27–25 during the second quarter, capitalizing on a five-minute scoring drought by TCU. However, turnovers by both teams prevented the Cougars from taking the lead. Veronica Sheffey ended TCU’s dry spell late in the second quarter with a three-pointer and followed with three free throws to send the Horned Frogs into halftime ahead 33–25.
TCU will travel to face Utah on Saturday, while BYU returns home to host Arizona State.
