Mitchell Scores 19 as Missouri Defeats Mississippi State 84-79.

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mark Mitchell led Missouri with 19 points, while T.O. Barrett contributed 16 in an 84-79 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday night. The Tigers (15-7, 5-4 SEC) got off to a strong start with a 12-2 run and held a 42-35 lead at halftime. Mississippi State closed the gap late with a 6-0 run, bringing the score to 74-71 with under two minutes remaining, but Missouri held on to secure the win. The Tigers capitalized on 14 Bulldog turnovers, converting them into 21 points.

Trent Pierce added 13 points, and Jayden Stone scored 11 for Missouri, which has now won three consecutive games against Mississippi State. For the Bulldogs (11-11, 3-6), Jayden Epps led with 23 points, while Josh Hubbard scored 22, including 20 in the second half.

Missouri’s Annor Boateng exited in the second half due to a leg injury and was taken off the court on a stretcher.


Up NextMississippi State will host No. 15 Arkansas on Saturday, while Missouri will face South Carolina at home.
