No. 20 Duke Extends Winning Streak with Dominant Victory over Wake Forest.


Durham, N.C. — No. 20 Duke continued its impressive run Sunday, cruising past Wake Forest 80–44 to earn its 13th consecutive win and remain undefeated in ACC play.

Riley Nelson led the Blue Devils with 16 points, while Toby Fournier and Arianna Roberson each recorded double-doubles in the lopsided victory. Duke improved to 16–6 overall and 11–0 in the ACC, marking the program’s strongest conference start under sixth-year head coach Kara Lawson. Duke seized control early, building a 42–10 halftime advantage as Wake Forest struggled offensively. The Demon Deacons committed 17 turnovers in the first half and shot just 15 percent from the field. Duke capitalized with a 21–2 edge in points off turnovers before the break. A decisive second quarter, highlighted by a 14–0 run, saw Duke outscore Wake Forest 22–2. The Blue Devils extended their lead to 52–10 early in the third quarter, opening the half with a 10–0 run. Wake Forest endured a stretch of 15 consecutive missed shots spanning from the second quarter into the third. Milan Brown later provided a spark by knocking down three straight field goals, helping the Demon Deacons keep the deficit under 40 points for much of the remainder of the game. Fournier finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Roberson added 12 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. Delaney Thomas chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds for Duke.

Brown led Wake Forest with 13 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, marking her third double-double of the season. Caitlyn Jones contributed 10 points for the Demon Deacons, who fell to 12–11 overall and 2–9 in the ACC.


Wake Forest committed 31 turnovers compared to Duke’s 12, with the Blue Devils holding a 31–14 advantage in points off turnovers. Duke shot 45 percent from the field, while Wake Forest finished the game at 30 percent shooting.

Duke will next face No. 7 Louisville in a first-place ACC showdown Thursday, with both teams entering the matchup unbeaten in conference play. Wake Forest travels to SMU on Thursday.
