No. 7 Louisville Defeats Stanford, Extends Winning Streak to 13.

No. 7 Louisville continued its dominant stretch of play Thursday night, defeating Stanford 84–66 in Stanford, California, and extending its winning streak to 13 games. Laura Ziegler led the Cardinals with an impressive performance, recording 22 points and 11 rebounds. Louisville improved to 20–3 overall and remained unbeaten in ACC play at 10–0. Mackenly Randolph set the tone early by knocking down a corner three on the game’s opening possession and finished with 14 points, including three three-pointers in the first quarter. Louisville maintained control throughout the contest and never trailed. The Cardinals built their largest advantage late in the game, stretching the lead to 27 points at 82–55 with just over two minutes remaining. Stanford struggled to keep pace and suffered its third consecutive loss, dropping to 15–7 overall and 4–5 in conference play. Courtney Ogden led the Cardinal with 16 points, while Chloe Clardy and Shay Ijiwoye added 15 points each. Ijiwoye was efficient from the field, converting six of her eight shot attempts. Turnovers proved costly for Stanford, which committed 14 in the first half. Louisville capitalized on those mistakes, scoring 16 points off turnovers and taking a commanding 48–30 lead into halftime. Although Stanford cut the deficit to 10 points twice in the third quarter, Louisville responded with a 7–0 run to close the period, capped by a buzzer-beating layup from Reyna Scott.

Stanford played without leading scorer Nunu Agara, who averages 14.5 points per game and remains sidelined with an injury suffered in an overtime loss to California earlier in the week. Louisville remains tied with No. 20 Duke atop the ACC standings. The two teams are scheduled to face each other on February 5 in Louisville. The Cardinals will next travel to California on Sunday, while Stanford returns home to host Notre Dame.
