Snoop Dogg made a notable appearance at the Paris Olympics, as he was seen participating in the torch relay just before the opening ceremony. His leg of the relay took place in Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris. The Olympic flame, ignited in Greece back in April, has been steadily making its way to Paris, with Snoop Dogg being one of the final torch bearers.
During an interview conducted earlier this week, the multihyphenate conveyed appreciation to both the United States and France for the opportunity provided.
“I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this,” he said. “I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is.”
The segment of the relay he was responsible for, the second to last leg before the opening ceremony on Friday night, proceeded smoothly. However, the same cannot be said for France's railway system on Friday morning, as it experienced significant disruptions prior to the commencement of the ceremony.
Snoop Dogg is currently in Paris to assist NBC in its coverage of the Games, as part of the U.S. broadcaster's strategy to enhance viewership by incorporating elements of pop culture into its reporting.

Simone Biles' mother jokingly pokes fun at Snoop Dogg for the incident where he disregarded her and her Olympian daughter: 'That moment will forever be etched in my memory'.

Snoop Dogg came close to facing some backlash. During the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics, Simone Biles' mother confronted the rapper about an incident from nearly 14 years ago, where he reportedly disregarded her and her daughter, a four-time gold medalist. On Friday, Hoda Kotb from "The Today Show" interviewed the Biles family alongside the "Drop It Like It’s Hot" artist as they geared up to witness her compete in her third Olympic Games.
Simone Biles' mother publicly called out the rapper during the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony, exposing how he had allegedly snubbed her and her daughter, a four-time gold medalist, nearly 14 years prior.
“Snoop, I don’t know if you know this, but Simone and you have known each other for a long time. Right, Nellie?” Kotb revealed. “How? How Nellie?” a bewildered Snoop asked. “I will never forget that we met you in Times Square. 2010,” Nellie Biles told the “Gin and Juice” rapper. “And you said—’cause we asked for a picture—two minutes. One, two, and you were gone.”
The Olympian's mother was simply teasing Snoops, which the entire crew found amusing before promptly changing the topic. Biles, 27, was conspicuously missing from Team USA's boat entrance on the Seine at the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony. However, her mother disclosed that there was a valid reason for her absence.
Snoop Dogg was present at the Artistic Gymnastics Women’s Qualification during the second day of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 at Bercy Arena on July 28, 2024 in Paris, France. Nellie Biles mentioned to Kotb that the first gymnastics competition, the women's qualifier, is scheduled for Sunday, and it is essential for her to get enough rest before the event. Biles' much-awaited comeback to the Olympics occurs after a gap of three years since her unexpected withdrawal from the Games in Japan to prioritize her mental well-being.
Simone Biles, along with Suni Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera, secured a spot on the US women's gymnastics team in June. During the qualifying round on Sunday, Biles seemed to have injured her leg while warming up for the floor exercise and had to leave the arena. On camera, she mentioned feeling something in her calf, but that didn't prevent the seven-time medalist from giving her performance.
