Stroud Struggles Prompt Texans Fans to Call for Burrow Trade

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow remains a central topic as high-profile teams continue to exit the playoffs in dramatic fashion. Recently, however, Houston Texans fans made a surprising proposal: they suggested trading C.J. Stroud to the Bengals in exchange for Burrow. The idea appears to stem from a mix of post-loss frustration and unrealistic expectations. Stroud, who was the second overall pick in 2023, has struggled after an impressive rookie season. In Houston’s recent loss to the New England Patriots, he threw four interceptions, prompting a flurry of discussion online. In his third NFL season, Stroud completed 19 touchdown passes and threw eight interceptions over 14 regular-season games, despite having the support of a strong defensive unit on a 12-5 team.

While he may eventually return to above-average form, the Texans are unlikely to give up on him. Currently, however, Stroud and Burrow are at very different points in their careers, leaving many Bengals fans puzzled by the online chatter following Houston’s playoff exit.
