Texas Overcomes 14-Point First-Half Deficit to Defeat Oklahoma 79-69 Behind Swain’s Double-Double.

NORMAN, Okla. – Dailyn Swain recorded a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists as Texas rallied from a 14-point first-half deficit to defeat Oklahoma 79-69 on Saturday. The Longhorns fell behind 23-9 with 9:38 remaining in the first half but responded with a 10-2 run to tie the game at 30. Oklahoma regained a 33-30 halftime lead after Xzayvier Brown made a 3-pointer with 18 seconds left. In the second half, the Sooners extended their lead to 61-55 on another Brown 3-pointer with 8:37 remaining. Texas countered with a 9-3 run, highlighted by a 3 from Simeon Wilcher and two from Jordan Pope, giving the Longhorns a 73-67 advantage with 3:25 to play. Nijel Pack missed two consecutive 3-point attempts for Oklahoma, and Swain’s jumper with 1:32 left made it 75-67. Texas then closed out the victory from the free-throw line. Texas (13-9, 4-5 Southeastern Conference) has won nine of the last ten games against Oklahoma, including seven straight in Norman. Matas Vokietaitis scored 14 points, Camden Heide added 13, Pope had 12, and Wilcher contributed 10 for the Longhorns.

Oklahoma (11-11, 1-8) was led by Pack with 23 points on 9-of-22 shooting, including three 3-pointers. Brown and Derrion Reid each added 15 points.
