Expect a strong start to the season, especially with early matchups against notable teams like the reigning Stanley Cup champion Vegas and the always competitive Boston Bruins.

The Colorado Avalanche have several top players who are crucial to their success in the 2024-25 season:

  1. Nathan MacKinnon - MacKinnon remains the team's cornerstone. A perennial MVP candidate, he led the Avalanche with 111 points last season, including 42 goals and 69 assists. His speed, playmaking ability, and scoring touch make him one of the most dangerous centers in the NHL.

  2. Cale Makar - As one of the NHL's elite defensemen, Makar's offensive and defensive capabilities are game-changing. He won the Norris Trophy in 2022 and continues to be an all-around force, contributing over 60 points from the blue line .

  3. Mikko Rantanen - A top-tier winger, Rantanen scored 55 goals last season, ranking among the NHL's top scorers. His combination of size, skill, and hockey IQ makes him a crucial piece of the Avalanche's offense.

These players, supported by a solid roster, keep Colorado competitive and among the favorites for the Stanley Cup.

New Additions to the team

The Colorado Avalanche have made some notable additions to their roster for the 2024-25 season:

  1. Tomas Hertl - Acquired from the San Jose Sharks in the offseason, Hertl is a skilled forward who will bring both experience and offensive depth to the Avs. He has the ability to play center or wing and will likely slot into the team's top six.

  2. Linus Ullmark - While not an Avalanche player, Ullmark was traded to the Ottawa Senators, an opponent the Avs will face in October. He’s a significant goalie addition to watch during matchups.

  3. Young Prospects - The Avalanche are also expected to have several young players pushing for spots in the lineup, including recent draft picks who could see more ice time as they develop throughout the season .

These new faces, along with Colorado's established stars, aim to solidify their status as Cup contenders this season.
