The New York Yankees delivered a dominant 13–4 victory over the Kansas City Royals, powered by a standout performance from Cody Bellinger. Bellinger hit two two-run home runs and recorded five RBIs, marking his 20th career multi-homer game and helping the Yankees secure their most lopsided win of the season. Starting pitcher Will Warren (2–0) matched a career high with 11 strikeouts, allowing just two runs across seven innings. The Yankees’ offense surged in the third inning, scoring five runs against Royals pitcher Noah Cameron (1–1), who ultimately gave up seven runs—five earned—over four innings.

The scoring rally was fueled in part by a defensive miscue involving Royals outfielder Kyle Isbel, whose three-base error opened the door for a sequence of home runs. Amed Rosario led off with a two-run homer, followed by Bellinger’s first blast. Shortly after, Ben Rice added a solo shot—his third consecutive game with a home run. Additional contributions came from J.C. Escarra, who recorded an RBI double and a two-run triple, and Randal Grichuk, who drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. For Kansas City, Carter Jensen hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning, though it was not enough to halt the team’s losing streak, which extended to six games.

The Royals also experienced early tension when manager Matt Quatraro was ejected before the first pitch after disputing a call with second base umpire Nestor Ceja. With the loss, Kansas City has now dropped 10 consecutive games to New York dating back to the 2024 ALDS. The series concludes with left-hander Cole Ragans scheduled to start for the Royals against Yankees pitcher Ryan Weathers.
